Internships are available April 1st - November 1st for 6 weeks or
longer.
3. What specifically interests you in being an intern at Red Earth
Farms?
4. What skills, experience, and prior interest do you bring to the
internship (e.g. classes, workshops, work experience, hobbies,
reading, etc.)?
5. What are you doing now? What do you plan to do when your
internship is over? Are you interested in becoming a member of an
intentional community in the future?
6. Please detail a few positions of responsibility you have held
and any supervisory tasks you have managed. Do you prefer to work
alone? with others? or a combination of both?
7. The following are expectations we have of interns. Please
indicate if you can agree to make a good faith effort to comply with
these norms.
Interns are
expected to conduct themselves with high integrity and respect for
the land, the people, the neighbors, the animals and the physical
resources.
We expect interns
to begin their work day by 9 am and put in 30-36 hours per week.
Interns take part
in cooking for the community and doing regular housekeeping chores.
Interns are
expected to bring their own tent, bedding, and tarp for camping
outdoors in both dry and rainy weather.
Interns should be
able to work reliably in our hot and humid summer weather.
8. Please tell us something about your recreational interests
(hobbies, passions, pastimes, etc.). Feel free to include any artwork,
poetry, etc.
9. Do you have any allergies, food restrictions or physical
limitations that might affect your ability to live in a rural setting
and do farm, construction or kitchen work?
10. Do you have a history of alcohol or substance overuse? If yes,
please share your history and let us know your current usage
patterns.
11. Are you prepared to spend your summer in a tent? Do you have
experience camping out for more than a few days?
12. Please list contact information for three references and your
relationship to each of them. (We are particularly interested in
talking to individuals who are familiar with your work experience and
habits, your level of responsibility, and your group skills.)
